2014 marks 04 years of Anupam Roy's musical journey....a journey that's truly been magical, uplifting, inspiring, tearful, nostalgic, sensuous, earthy, raw, beautiful, pure.....oh my goodness....how does one use a single article to talk about what all Anupam Roy's songs mean??? 

Well, I know we all are here for one simple and single reason - Anupam Roy, the man himself, and the world he has created for us all, which he lets us inhabit, along with him in it....

For me, this particular world of music has been a lot of things, has seen me through a lot of ups and downs, still seeing, and given meaning to me in a way that only I wish to interpret...I know it means so much to you in so many different ways...

How many times have you heard this song? Well, if you are in Kolkata, probably you've heard this a lot many times at different places. Being outside of Kolkata, I am quite sad that such a wonderful track has not really reached many people here.

The more common and popular songs of Anupam Roy seem to be Amake Amar Moto of course. But if you were to ask me, this one is equally soul stirring, if not more.

I first heard this one on a dark summer night here, with the sea breeze flowing in and ruffling through my hair. It stayed on with me ever since - the song......

For those of you who have heard it but didn't really get the lyrics, here is the same in English script. Yes all my lovely fellow Anupam Roy fans...I'm sure you've already heard the song by now and swayed and banged your head to it's beats! I have!!! But one thing I've really been struggling with is understanding all the lyrics and being able to sing along :-(  Guess some things need more practice, attention and time.

I paint quite a funny picture when I head out for my walks each night. With my headphones buried deep in music and my hair going all about in the cool late night breeze that flows in from the sea, I walk along the road, forgetting the cars and people around, swaying my head to the beats, trying and singing along to some of the lines - I can manage only about 2-3 lines (that's really bad Debo!!!!) - and for the rest, I keep swaying and losing myself in a different world and time altogether - a world that is just mine - have you guys felt that too????

I got to read the original Bengali version of a recent interview with Anupam Roy in the newspaper (?) Ebela (I happened to read it online). Since it was all in Bengali and isn't available outside Bengal (unless you're an e-reader of the paper), I figured it would be good to share it in a translated-to-English version just to let other non-Bengali fans and those who're not very proficient with the language enjoy the read too....I am reproducing the original interview here in a translated English version and have no ownership over it. Its not my work. Also, Im not a 100% correct in the language, so please do forgive me if I haven't been able to write it properly.

Anupam Roy's Second Album 'Dwitiyo Purush' To Be Launched on Valentine's Day In Kolkata

It's been quite a while that Anupam Roy's first album 'Doorbine Chokh Rakhbo Na' came out and smashed the charts! Of course it doesn't need to be mentioned all over again that the album was welcomed by fans of his music everywhere, not just in Bengal, and after much searching and waiting and searching and still waiting, I too managed to order a copy online.

But it's been a long time now and everyone was waiting for the second round of music to be released.
